Ten weeks from now, you could feel like a different person

Yoga4Health is an NHS-accredited programme for people living with stress, anxiety, or long-term health conditions. Gentle movement. Practical tools. And a small group who'll go through it with you.

If your body has been keeping score, it's time to listen.

You might be here because a GP mentioned it. Or because you've been searching for something that might help you feel more like yourself.

Maybe you're dealing with anxiety. Or stress that you just can't ignore anymore. Maybe your blood sugar numbers have started creeping up, or you've been told your heart health needs attention. Or maybe you're just tired of feeling meh.

Whatever brought you here, you don't need to have it all figured out.

You just need to be willing to show up — as you are.

Ten weeks that change the pattern

Yoga4Health is a structured 10-week programme designed to help people manage stress, anxiety, and long-term health conditions

You’ll explore yoga, breathing, and simple self-care tools you can do at home.

It was developed for the NHS and evaluated by the University of Westminster. The research found statistically significant improvements in anxiety, stress, and how confident people felt managing their own health.

This isn't a yoga class you drop into when you feel like it. It's a course — with a beginning, a middle, and an end. Each week builds on the last. The group stays the same. And over ten weeks, you learn ways to improve your health.

It's delivered here in Hasland by Karen, a qualified yoga teacher and Yoga4Health practitioner who's been teaching in Chesterfield for years.

What to expect

Movement

Chair-based or mat-based — you choose what works for your body. We’re not bothered about flexibility or getting into difficult positions. It's about learning to move in a way that feels steady and safe.

Breathing & relaxation

Simple practices that help calm your nervous system. Nothing complex — just techniques that work, and that you can use at home, at work, or at 3am when your mind won't switch off.

Self-management tools

Each week introduces a practical theme — things like sleep, nutrition, pacing, and managing stress. Through conversations, we’ll help you build habits that last beyond the ten weeks.

Connection

You'll be in a small group of people who are going through something similar. You don't have to share anything you don't want to. But there's something powerful about being in a room with people who get it.

NHS Approved

Yoga4Health was originally commissioned by the NHS across 11 London boroughs and independently evaluated by the University of Westminster.

Here's what the research found:

  • Significant reductions in anxiety and perceived stress

  • Improved patient activation — meaning people felt more able and more confident managing their own health

  • Better musculoskeletal health — less pain, more ease of movement

  • Improvements continued beyond the end of the programme

It's one of the few yoga programmes in the UK with this level of clinical evidence behind it.

That means you can trust that what you're being asked to do has been shown to help.

You'll be in good hands

Karen has been practising yoga in Chesterfield for over 26 years. She's a qualified Yoga4Health practitioner, trained to deliver this specific programme, and she has a genuine ability to make people feel welcomed.

She's worked with people who've never set foot in a yoga studio before. People who thought yoga wasn't for them. People who were nervous to start and now come every week.

You don’t need to be flexible, spiritual, or anything.

Karen will meet you exactly where you are.
